 Italy Day 27 🇮🇹


The primary monument to Italian revolutionary and founding father Giuseppe Mazzini is located in Piazzale Ugo La Malfa in Rome. The 13-meter-tall marble sculpture was designed by Ettore Ferrari and inaugurated on June 2, 1949, marking the 100th anniversary of the Roman Republic.
Mazzini was a vital, often controversial, activist for Italian unification and an outspoken republican. Because he opposed the Italian monarchy, his legacy was debated long after his death in 1872.
