Day 870- Keys to Canada- New Mexico/Texas

We’re often asked how we deal with the weather while traveling. The answer is simple — we’re always watching the forecast and looking ahead. If we see dangerous weather developing, we stop and wait it out rather than pushing through.
One thing that makes those decisions much easier is our Harvest Hosts membership. It gives us access to unlimited overnight RV stays at more than 9,500 unique locations across the country, all with no camping fees.

Of course things happen. When you misjudge how soft the ground is after a rain, fellow Evers will be there to help pull you out.

Day 867- Keys to Canada-Arizona

The Xscapers Annual Bash is a weeklong gathering of working-aged RVers in Lake Havasu City, celebrating community. The 2026 bash focused on the spirit of The Great American Roadtrip with Route 66 flair, live entertainment, activities, and educational seminars.

Quartzsite, Arizona, is a premier winter destination for RVers, attracting over a million visitors between November and March for its pleasant desert climate, massive RV show, and extensive, low-cost BLM boondocking. It is known as the "RV Boondocking Capital of the World," offering thousands of acres for a free long term stay.

The Big Tent Show in January. Known as a premier desert destination, it offers extensive free Bureau of Land Management (BLM) camping, numerous vendor booths, and a community-focused atmosphere for nomads, vanners, and RVers.
And finding your fellow RV friends

The Hi Jolly Monument is a grave site in the Hi Jolly Cemetery located at Quartzsite, Arizona, United States, marking the grave of Hi Jolly, a Syrian-born camel driver brought to the United States in 1856 to drive camels for the US Cavalry.

There is something about the vast, open landscape of the desert that makes a sunset feel even more dramatic and awe-inspiring.

The way the colors shift from deep oranges to soft purples across the dunes or mountains really does make for a humbling, spiritual moment. It's a perfect example of nature reflecting a sense of wonder of God's grandness.
